AI Strategy & Transformation Lead

Sydney | Hybrid | $200K–$250K + Super

About the Business 

Operating across consumer services, digital platforms, media, fulfilment, payments, and government-connected environments, this Australian business group is investing in the next phase of AI-enabled transformation across the group. This is a rare opportunity to shape how AI is adopted at a group level, across a complex and diverse  array of busienss units  not by inheriting an existing AI function, but by helping define it.

As AI Strategy & Transformation Lead, you will work closely with executive leadership to identify where AI can create genuine business value, establish the frameworks and governance required for responsible adoption, and help shape the roadmap that will guide investment and implementation across the group. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, transformation, technology, and operations. Success will come from your ability to connect business priorities with emerging technologies, influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, and drive meaningful change that extends beyond technology alone.

What you'll be responsible for

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of organisational Tehnology development, people change, business transformation, and digital evolution. This role is suited to someone with a strong understanding of organisational design, change management, and technology transformation, rather than deep expertise in a single product, platform, or technical domain.

The successful candidate will be able to influence change across an organisation, align stakeholders around a common vision, and help shape how new technologies are adopted and embedded into day-to-day operations.

This is a strategy and transformation role, not a hands-on builder role.

In this role, you will be responsible for...

• Defining the AI vision, priorities, and transformation roadmap across the group
• Identifying and prioritising AI opportunities based on business impact, feasibility, and ROI
• Establishing governance frameworks and responsible AI practices
• Evaluating platforms, vendors, tooling, and emerging technologies
• Partnering with leaders across operations, customer service, marketing, finance, legal, and technology to identify transformation opportunities
• Leading experimentation, pilot programs, and capability uplift initiatives
• Creating the structure, prioritisation, and accountability required to move from AI experimentation to enterprise adoption

You'll be comfortable operating from the boardroom to frontline teams, balancing strategic thinking with practical execution, and bringing people on the journey as new ways of working are introduced.
