Senior Finance Leader (Future CFO Pathway)

A rare opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who wants to step into a high-impact role with genuine CFO trajectory.

We are partnering with a high-growth fintech whose cloud-based platform is used by financial institutions globally. The business is scaling rapidly and winning against their competitors.

As the business continues to expand its footprint, this is a newly created role for a finance leader who wants to play a pivotal part in shaping their financial strategy and infrastructure.

Working closely with the Exec leadership team, this role sits at the centre of the organisation and will be responsible for financial management, reporting and strategic financial planning for the group.

For the right person, this represents a clear pathway toward a future CFO role as the company continues its expansion.

The Opportunity

This is a broad and influential role where you will combine technical financial leadership with commercial insight, partnering closely with executive leadership and the board.

You will lead the financial management of the business while helping build the financial infrastructure required for a rapidly scaling fintech.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the financial planning and reporting function for the consolidated group

• Preparing monthly management and board reporting

• Managing budgets, forecasting and performance analysis

• Ensuring strong financial controls, governance and reporting processes

• Overseeing cash management and banking relationships

• Preparing statutory accounts and coordinating external auditors and advisers

• Managing tax compliance, including R&D claims

• Supporting fundraising activities and financial due diligence

• Delivering commercial analysis and financial modelling to support growth decisions

• Developing scalable financial systems, reporting frameworks, and operational processes

• Mentoring and leading a small, growing team

• Acting as a trusted adviser to senior leadership

About You

You are a high-performing finance leader who enjoys operating in dynamic, growth environments and wants the opportunity to step toward a CFO role.

You are likely to bring:

• Significant experience in financial management or financial controller roles

• Exposure to high-growth technology, fintech SaaS, or financial services environments

• Strong experience with board reporting, forecasting and financial planning

• Proven ability to balance hands-on financial management with commercial thinking

• Experience working with external auditors, tax advisers and regulatory environments

• Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage at executive and board level

Experience supporting capital raising, investor reporting or international operations will be highly regarded.
