Job Description

Software Engineer (DevOps)

$150k + super

Hybrid (2 days WFH)

75% of the work you do as a Software Engineer is about as useful as leftover screws from IKEA furniture.

Ok, we made that % up. But you and I know a lot of your work either gets canned, never sees the light of day or worse, lacks any real-world impact.

That’s not the case here. You could contribute to a major sustainability play, directly combatting one of the biggest offenders in carbon emissions.

The tech is cool - it’s real robots. The robot is essentially a mobile Docker container. You’d contribute to everything from AWS infra, CI/CD, DevSecOps & OpenSearch ingesting data from sensors and computer vision algo’s.

The robots are already fighting global warming, with bots deployed in Australia and the US.  You can can expect significant team and customer growth with Series A funding due to be locked in Q1 of 2025.

And that’s where you come in. Scale.

As this team of 25 (a combo of tech, production and commercial) shifts the focus from start-up, to scale-up, things need to change.

Your impact will be in the systems architecture. Focused on software and cloud infrastructure, data management and observability.

You’ll work from the robot up, developing and automating workflows, building cloud components and implementing security measures.

It’s a flexible hybrid set-up. Most of the team are in at least 3 days a week because they get to come and play with 3D printers, the robots and because they seem to have fun at work. But there are not hard and fast rules around flexibility.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience with DevSecOps workflows and automation that lift team performance
  • Experience in building and managing AWS, docker, opensearch/splunk components
  • Knowledge and experience of key programming languages (C++, Python)
  • Experience with professional software engineering best practices including code review, source control, CI/CD, test framework development and operations
