You’ll be joining a scale-up who are part of one of Australia’s most profitable companies. 

 

With access to huge data sets, they are to learn and then predict behavior meaning that their customers can be closer to theirs.  

 

The team you’ll be joining is building a product focused on high availability and high scalability customer analytics.

 

Looking forward, the business has plans to scale in 2024 and so you joining in the new year will align with new projects, new products and a growing team. 

 

Role

 

You’ll be joining as an Engineering Manager overseeing a team of 6 direct reports and 10-12 additional heads initially. 

 

This is a key role for the business. You’ll be responsible for all of the internal facing tech for the sales and ops teams. Without the work you are doing, the company just can’t scale. 

In the first three months you’ll understand and restructure the tech, be looking to build systems for inventory management, make improvements in tech and look and align the international teams.

By six months you’ll have a clear roadmap and be delivering, you’ll understand the strengths of the team and help them to be aligned and upskill.

This is a role with loads of scope for you to make an impact. As part of the fastest growing business function, you’ll be well placed to progress quickly. Other Eng Managers have been promoted to Head of Eng and Head of Eng into GM. 

The key challenges here will be understanding the existing structure of the team and the tech and having the vision to make improvements. 

This role will suit you if you’ve come from a technical background, managed teams and have a deep knowledge of internal tools / CRM.

Here’s an overview of the key elements of the role:

 

  • CRM - experience of working on CRM / Salesforce / order management to maximise productivity will be key

  • Systems architecture -  GCP / AWS, Event Driven Architecture

  • Team - Upskilling and developing the team, restructuring if needed

 

The office hub is based in Surry Hills and you will be Sydney based but they know that flexibility is key. They have monthly team events so as long as you’re around for them, that works. If you want to go into the office, there is a core of people who go in regularly too so it’s whatever works for you as long as you are in Sydney and happy to head in when needed.
