If you are in a larger consulting firm, the real prospect of a material bonus and a pathway to equity is likely very thin. You are also highly likely to be one of many contenders being considered for either.  

Joining a niche firm with fewer layers and more direct impact could be a smart move. Post-pandemic, this firm has expanded globally (10+ new offices). Its APAC HQ in Singapore is gaining ground across key segments, architecting strategic projects and AI-first solutions.  

The AI Team has been critical to their success. They benefit from a deep connection to their AI Centre of Excellence in the US and a suite of proprietary analytics products. 

The current AI Consultant in the team is moving back to North America to rejoin the business there at the end of a secondment. So, this is a new headcount, and we are hoping there will be some overlap between the new consultant and the current one (they leave in October). 

The APAC AI Team is a tight unit of 4, who appreciate each other’s expertise. Project-wise, the typical focus is on proof-of-concept (POC) and MVP-level analytics. Day to day, you’ll need to be delivering data-driven models to help clients validate commercial opportunities- think churn, segmentation, or forecasting. Sometimes clean data is scarce, and starting from scratch is the norm. So, an ability to read the landscape and deliver what you can is key - sometimes 80% and done is better than striving for perfection (think diminishing returns). 

What we’re looking for in a resume (apart from stability):  

• A strategy consulting background  

• Python and SQL 

• Familiarity with geospatial data is a plus. 

We also need to see some quantification of the business impact of your work (e.g., uplift, revenue gain, churn reduction).  

At the technical level, you will not be expected to productionize models yourself- external delivery partners (i.e., other consulting firms) usually get brought in for that. You will work directly with senior leadership and contribute to how the AI team evolves. 

Due to the nature of the role, you must be based in Singapore (or willing to relocate). International applicants are welcome; visa sponsorship will be considered for the right person.
