Windows System Administrator – 12-Month Contract

Port Melbourne | 2:00pm–10:00pm Shift | NV1 Clearance Required

We’re looking for an experienced Windows System Administrator to join a high-performing Managed Services team supporting a major enterprise customer in Port Melbourne.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role suited to someone who enjoys solving infrastructure problems, working autonomously and supporting business-critical technology environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll support the ongoing availability, performance and security of enterprise server infrastructure.

Your day-to-day will include

  • Administering and supporting Windows Server environments

  • Installing and configuring server hardware, software, firmware and drivers

  • Supporting VMware environments, including vCenter, vCloud and vSphere

  • Managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy

  • Monitoring server availability, performance, backups and capacity

  • Managing server access and security controls

  • Deploying application and infrastructure changes

  • Supporting data migration and replication between sites

  • Troubleshooting incidents and providing first-level technical support

  • Escalating complex issues to specialist support teams

  • Maintaining technical documentation and configuration records

  • Collaborating directly with customers and internal IT stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills & Experience

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in Windows Systems Administration

  • Experience supporting complex corporate infrastructure environments

  • Strong Windows Server and Active Directory capability

  • VMware experience

  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and Group Policy

  • Experience with SCCM and SCOM

  • Server hardware installation and configuration experience

  • Backup and recovery administration knowledge

  • Linux and storage administration exposure

  • Network and LAN troubleshooting experience

  • ServiceNow or similar ITSM platform experience

  • Scripting or infrastructure automation exposure

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation and problem-solving skills

  • IT qualification or equivalent practical experience

Experience with Avamar, Data Domain, NetApp, Networker, VxRail, Unity, Citrix or hyperconverged infrastructure will be highly regarded.

Contract Details

  • 12-month contract

  • Based onsite in Port Melbourne

  • Monday to Friday, 2:00pm–10:00pm

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Some after-hours, weekend or on-call work may occasionally be required

  • Own car and current driver’s license required

  • Mileage reimbursed where applicable

Security Clearance Requirement

This position is only open to Australian Citizens with a current NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance.

Candidates must also meet applicable ITAR and background-check requirements.
