Job Description

DevSecOps Engineer

Sydney | Full-time | Hybrid

When your platform grows from one container to a distributed system of moving parts that stretch across clouds, edge devices and on-prem environments, security stops being a feature. It becomes architecture.

That’s where this team is now. The software already powers some of the most complex compute environments in the world, and they need someone who can make the foundations bulletproof.

You’ll join a small, senior infrastructure group focused on building secure systems that scale. They care less about compliance checklists and more about designing infrastructure that’s resilient by design.

What you’ll tackle

  • Strengthen the security backbone of a distributed Kubernetes platform: clusters, networking, access controls and firewalls

  • Design and enforce zero-trust network patterns across hybrid and edge deployments

  • Maintain vulnerability management and threat-detection systems, improving response and visibility with every incident

  • Use observability and forensic data to triage events, refine detection rules and close feedback loops fast

  • Continuously harden the stack through automation, runtime monitoring and practical guardrails, not bureaucracy

You’ll thrive here if

You’ve spent time in DevOps or platform engineering but always leaned toward the security side of the fence.
You know your way around:

  • Kubernetes in production (helm, operators, workload hardening)

  • Cloud networking and secure network access (ZTNA, VPN alternatives)

  • Runtime security tools such as Falco or Sysdig

  • SIEM/SOC or observability stacks including OpenTelemetry, Grafana or Sentinel

  • You care about clarity, automation and designing systems that keep their promises under pressure

Why this team

  • You’ll join a well-funded engineering group solving problems that actually matter, protecting compute infrastructure that underpins a whole new field of technology
  • They operate like a high-trust startup inside a serious technical domain: flexible hours, smart people and leadership that measures output, not seat time
  • There’s meaningful equity, strong salaries and the chance to build security from first principles instead of bolting it on later

If you’re ready to build systems that stay secure when everything else scales, reach out.
