We're working with a high-growth, venture-backed scale-up that's revolutionising how energy data is used. They've built a best-in-class SaaS platform for electricity utilities, and now they’re hiring a Senior Customer Data Engineer to join their technical delivery team.
What you’ll do:

Own and optimise large-scale ETL pipelines across diverse customer environments

Work directly with customer engineering teams to understand data sources and ingest geospatial data

Build models using dbt, Spark and Python

Partner with internal data science and product teams to unlock real business outcomes

Take charge of solving data bugs, system integration challenges, and performance optimisation
Tech Stack:
Databricks (Spark), AWS, dbt, SQL, Python
We’re looking for someone with:
✅ Strong SQL and Python skills with a focus on ETL and data pipeline development
✅ Experience with big data (Spark or Databricks)
✅ Core knowledge of geospatial data—especially interpreting and mapping it
✅ Comfortable talking to external customers or open to building those skills
✅ Problem-solving mindset and thrives in fast-paced, less-structured environments
This role is highly suited to someone from a consulting background or experience in startups/scale-ups. Electrical engineering knowledge is a bonus but not required.
You'll work 90% on technical data engineering delivery and 10% customer interaction (flexible depending on the project). If you’re commercially curious, technically sharp, and want to make a difference—this is worth a chat.
