Engineering Team Lead

Overview
Are you a technically strong leader with a passion for improving systems, teams, and decision-making? We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead to guide a team of 4–5 engineers in delivering high-traffic, customer-facing web experiences at scale. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a critical web platform, shape its technical direction, and drive meaningful improvements in performance, architecture, and engineering effectiveness.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership position, balancing technical involvement with team development and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
As an Engineering Team Lead, you will:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4–5 engineers.
• Own the technical direction of a high-traffic web platform.
• Improve Core Web Vitals, SEO, latency, and overall web performance.
• Drive better engineering velocity and remove technical blockers.
• Lead architecture and system design discussions.
• Enhance technical standards, code quality, and engineering practices.
• Manage technical debt and cross-team dependencies.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams.
• Help the team make pragmatic technical trade-offs.
• Communicate technical risks, options, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should have:

• Proven experience as an Engineering Team Lead, Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, or hands-on Engineering Manager.
• Strong expertise in:
  • React.js
  • Next.js
  • Server-Side Rendering
  • Core Web Vitals
  • Web performance and scalability
  • High-traffic customer-facing platforms
  • System design and architecture
  • APIs and distributed services
  • Cloud platforms (AWS)
• Direct experience in people leadership and team development.
• A track record of partnering with Product and Design teams.

Additional experience with GraphQL, micro-frontends, modern application security, and AI coding tools is highly desirable.
