Senior Software Engineer – Security Platform & Detection Engineering

Location: US or Canada (Remote)

6 Month Daily Rate Contract

We're looking for a software engineer with strong platform and SRE experience to help build and operate the systems that power our Detection Engineering and Purple Team functions.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on security telemetry, data pipelines, automation, and platform reliability. You'll work across software development, infrastructure, and security engineering to ensure critical services remain scalable, resilient, and available.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain automation workflows supporting AI and Detection Engineering initiatives.
• Evaluate, onboard, and operationalise SaaS, Product, Affiliate, and Endpoint log sources.
• Design and maintain log ingestion, transformation, and normalisation pipelines.
• Extend and enhance custom integrations and ingestion capabilities where vendor support doesn't exist.
• Develop log health monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions.
• Monitor and improve the availability, reliability, and performance of security platforms and services.
• Build and maintain tooling that supports Detection Engineering and Security Operations.

What We're Looking For

• Strong software engineering background with experience building production systems.
• Experience with platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure-focused development.
• Strong Python skills (most of our environment is Python-based).
• Experience working with AWS.
• Experience building APIs, services, automation, and data pipelines.
• Understanding of monitoring, observability, and high-availability systems.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and work across multiple languages.

Nice to Have

• Cybersecurity, Detection Engineering, or Security Operations experience.
• Experience with Airbyte or similar ingestion platforms.
• Experience with endpoint telemetry, EDR integrations, or security data pipelines.
• Familiarity with React, Node.js, and modern web development.
