Some data scientists want to publish papers. Some want a FAANG logo on their CV. Others just want to explain their work simply at a dinner party.

For years, data science was a business support function running analyses for "the business". Supporting decisions made elsewhere.

Data science now drives product decisions. People are building systems customers depend on daily, embedding them into core workflows, and investing heavily in measurement and governance. They need a leader to own it.

You'll report to the VP, who is based in the US, but you'll own the strategy and impact of a portfolio of data science work across multiple teams.

And establish governance for AI, data quality, privacy, and model risk. Lead and develop strong managers and senior ICs.

We need someone with 12+ years in data science and proven experience leading managers and operating at enterprise scale.

You've led multiple teams through large strategic programs. You've built platforms or standards that materially improved organisational leverage.

You have strong strategic judgment, excellent executive communication, and the ability to build alignment across senior leaders.

Experience in product, B2B SaaS, or leading responsible AI adoption is highly desirable.

Melbourne or Sydney. Hybrid (1-2 days/week onsite).
