Onset Group is looking for a Principal Consultant to build and lead a high-performing Software Engineering practice focused across JavaScript, Full Stack Engineering, AI-enabled product businesses, and modern engineering teams.

This role suits an experienced recruiter who understands how to build genuine market credibility with Engineering leaders, founders and scaling technology businesses. Someone commercially driven, highly networked, and motivated by building long-term client partnerships rather than simply filling roles.

You’ll have the platform, brand and autonomy to grow a significant desk across one of the fastest-moving areas of the market.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building strategic relationships with CTOs, Engineering Leaders and Founders
• Recruiting across modern Software Engineering environments
• Driving permanent and contract revenue growth
• Developing long-term client partnerships across startup, scale-up and enterprise technology businesses
• Building deep candidate networks within JavaScript, Full Stack and AI-enabled engineering communities
• Contributing to the growth and direction of the broader Technology practice

• Have 4+ years of 360 recruitment experience (ideally in Australia)
• Know your niche or are ready to define it - Recruitment experience within Engineering or Technology

• Ambition to build a market-leading practice
