Head of Learning & Development - Product & Technology

Shape and deliver a global capability strategy across product and technology teams
Melbourne or Sydney location

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to build a Product & Technology L&D function from the ground up within a global, high-performing tech environment. Right now, there are strong pockets of learning across the business, but no single, connected approach. Onboarding varies, capability isn’t consistently defined, and learning isn’t always embedded into how teams operate day to day.

Your role is to change that.

You’ll take ownership of how capability is defined, developed and delivered across product and technology teams, bringing structure, consistency and clarity to an area that is currently fragmented. This is not about rolling out standard learning programs. It’s about shaping how teams actually improve performance, ramp faster and build the skills needed for what’s coming next. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across product, technology, people and talent to align capability development to where the business is heading.

Your Remit


Strategy and Leadership

  • Set the direction for how capability is built across Product & Technology
  • Work with leaders to understand current gaps and future skill requirements
  • Translate business priorities into practical development approaches
  • Ensure learning is relevant, applied and tied to real work

Capability, Onboarding & Ecosystem

  • Improve how new hires ramp up and become effective
  • Create a more consistent approach to onboarding across teams
  • Bring structure to how capability is defined across different roles
  • Ensure development is embedded into day-to-day workflows

Early Talent & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Oversee the graduate and early careers approach
  • Ensure junior talent is set up for long-term success
  • Work closely with hiring and people teams to align capability and hiring
  • Build strong relationships across senior stakeholders

What sets you up for success

  • Experience building capability within product-led or technology organisations at scale
  • Comfortable operating in environments that are complex, evolving and fast-paced
  • Able to balance big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery

About You

  • Experience working in or closely with product and technology teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across senior and technical audiences
  • Able to operate in ambiguous environments and bring structure
  • Practical and delivery-focused, not purely theoretical
  • Comfortable working across both strategy and execution
  • Interest in how technology and AI are shaping how people learn and work
