Technical Business Analyst
Sydney | Surry Hills | Financial Services | $120k + Super

We’re partnering with a financial services business that is undertaking a significant transformation of its core systems. As part of this work, they are modernising a long-standing internal platform and improving the way business processes and systems interact across the organisation.

They are now hiring a Technical Business Analyst to help bridge the gap between business operations and engineering as the platform evolves.

This role will play an important part in understanding the current system landscape, documenting workflows and regulatory obligations, and translating business requirements into clear technical specifications for engineers.

It’s an opportunity to work closely with engineering while helping establish a strong and reliable foundation for future system improvements and automation.

What you’ll be doing:

Build a deep understanding of existing business processes, systems and compliance requirements

Work with internal stakeholders to capture and document the current state of systems and workflows

Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements for engineering teams

Document system workflows, architecture and process artefacts

Identify potential risks, regulatory considerations and downstream system impacts

Support integration work across APIs and internal systems

Investigate technical requirements for new features and integrations

Assist with testing activities including UAT and validation of system changes

Contribute to sprint planning and Agile delivery activities

Work closely with product leadership, engineers and operational stakeholders

The environment:

The team works in a fast-moving Agile environment with short delivery cycles and frequent releases.

The platform itself is being refactored and modernised, including updates to the technology stack, database architecture and integration capabilities.

What they’re looking for:

Around 3+ years experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst

Experience working closely with engineering teams

Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications

Comfort reviewing APIs, integrations and system architecture

Strong documentation and systems analysis skills

Experience mapping workflows, processes and system interactions

Experience within financial services, insurance or another regulated industry would be highly regarded.
