Job Description

Group Financial Controller (Remote – Philippines)

Remote / Work From Home – PH-based | AU Hours (9:00 AM–6:00 PM AEST)

Join a high-growth Australian technology group driving financial excellence across borders.

The Group Financial Controller (GFC) is a newly created leadership role — designed to build discipline, strengthen controls, and drive clean, audit-ready numbers across our expanding portfolio of technology services companies operating in multiple jurisdictions.

You will be the CFO’s right hand — leading financial operations, managing a small Philippines-based team, and ensuring month-end close is timely, compliant, and confidently defensible.

This is a high-trust, high-impact role for a technical finance leader who is equally comfortable getting hands-on with journals and consolidations, reviewing reconciliations, and coaching junior team members.

If you're a CPA-qualified finance professional with experience in multi-entity accounting, IFRS compliance, and leading audit prep, and you're looking to join a remote-first, high-growth environment — we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Control & Close

  • Own the full accounting cycle across multiple entities.

  • Oversee journals, intercompany entries, and group eliminations.

  • Prepare consolidated reports and variance commentary for executive leadership.

  • Ensure clean balance sheets, reconciliations, and GL integrity.

Compliance & Audit

  • Manage tax and statutory filings (BAS, GST, payroll tax, etc.).

  • Lead audit readiness: PBC prep, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

  • Ensure accounting policies align with IFRS and AU/NZ regulations.

Process Improvement

  • Eliminate manual workarounds in AP, AR, and payroll processes.

  • Maintain finance documentation (e.g., SOPs in Confluence).

  • Support future system upgrades and automation initiatives.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor a small PH-based finance team.

  • Review deliverables and performance; coach for ownership and quality.

  • Build a strong culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous learning.

CFO Support & Business Partnering

  • Be the CFO’s first line of financial control and risk identification.

  • Support cashflow, forecasts, board packs, and M&A integration workstreams.

  • Act as a trusted partner to shared services and operating teams.

You Might Be a Fit If You Are:

  • CPA-qualified with 7–10+ years of experience in finance, audit, or controllership roles or 3–4+ years of experience in a similar finance controllership capacity.

  • Technically strong in IFRS, multi-entity consolidations, and audit preparation.

  • Experienced with Australian tax and compliance standards (preferred).

  • A hands-on, detail-oriented leader with high standards and sound judgment.

  • Proactive in improving systems and processes — not just maintaining them.

  • Comfortable in a remote-first, fast-paced environment with evolving structures.

  • Tools experience: Xero/MYOB, Google Workspace, Office 365, Slack, Confluence, ATO Business Portal, Power BI (basic)
