Help Build the Platform Everyone Will Be Talking About

Technical Lead - Java | Remote (AU) | Around $180K + Super (pending experience)

We’re working with a fast-growing product company backed by top-tier investors and global operators. With millions of users and exciting traction across ANZ with growth globally, they're creating a first-of-its-kind platform that connects people to great experiences - with speed, flexibility, and flavour.

We're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead (Java) to help scale. You’ll take charge of a high-potential engineering team and lead the delivery of new features, new products, and global expansion - while still rolling up your sleeves to write clean, scalable code.

🚀 What You’ll Do

• Own backend technical direction and architecture across a modern, fast-moving product

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers across feature squads

• Ship high-quality features using Java, AWS, GraphQL/REST APIs

• Make key decisions on performance, reliability, and infrastructure

• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and continuous learning

👀 What We’re Looking For

• Strong Java backend skills and deep knowledge of cloud environments (ideally AWS)

• Comfortable leading teams while staying technically hands-on

• Experience designing scalable systems and working in modern Agile environments

• Great communicator - you’ll work with product, mobile, design, and stakeholders

• Someone who thrives in fast-moving, scale-up-style teams

• Bonus points if you’ve worked on real-time systems, high-volume APIs, or marketplaces
