Job Description

Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace (Sponsored Relocation to Adelaide)

15 years ago, if you wanted to build advanced aircraft in Australia, your best bet was booking a one-way ticket overseas or settle for paper engineering.

Science then, Australia’s aerospace scene has evolved. We’ve moved from maintaining aircraft to designing and building them. From licensing offshore IP to owning the innovations ourselves.

Today, sovereign capability is no longer a pipe dream - it's a national strategy.

And engineers? You’re finally at the center of it.

We’re now entering an era where mechanical systems engineering is a mission-critical craft - designing the muscle, motion, and mechanics that enable high-agility flight and autonomous operations.

This role is for someone who:

  • Has a strong grasp of first-principles design and mechanical systems thinking

  • Wants to see their designs built - not sit in CAD purgatory

  • Thrives in fast-moving, test-driven, zero-fluff engineering teams

  • Is excited by prototyping, validation, and iteration - on the clock, not in theory

You’ll get to:

  • Own mechanical subsystems across the design–build–test cycle

  • Collaborate with avionics, flight software, and structures engineers

  • Lead design validation using FEA and test rigs

  • Help take a platform from concept to flight

  • Work with ex-defence, ex-startup, and aerospace veterans building sovereign IP

If you've spent your time designing FSAE cars or leading student teams to actually ship things, you'll feel right at home.

You’ll need:

  • A Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering degree

  • 2–5 years experience designing real-world hardware (UAVs, vehicles, aircraft)

  • Fluency in CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, etc.) and FEA tools

  • Australian citizenship (NV1 clearance or eligibility preferred)

What’s in it for you?

Permanent role, competitive salary + ESOP, and a front-row seat to one of Australia’s most exciting aerospace programs. No overseas move required, just interstate.
