Principal ML Engineer wanted! (not exclusively for arguing!).

Some real AI work is being done.

Yes that's right - live AI in production, customers paying, challenges with the sheer scale of data - the works.

You’re probably working in deep learning somewhere highly technical now.

Maybe you love what you’re doing but are frustrated at the lack of budget being allocated toward your project.

You want to keep working with high-calibre technical people and enjoy sharing what you know with others (everyone is hands on in this team).

You hopefully don’t get aggravated by changes to the roadmap. Ideally you have some experience in leading a small team through such changes.

It’s all about shipping the right solutions to customers after all.

The AI team is tackling some of the most complex challenges in geospatial intelligence.

As the Principal MLE will you’ll take ownership of their foundation and downstream models. Lots of semantic segmentation involved to.

Ideally in the first 6 months you’ll have executed the foundational model and shown some benefit in the downstream.

The datasets include tens of petabytes of high-quality imagery and millions of labelled images.

You will have a significant AWS budget to help you create value.

You’ll have a small team of two working with you, very much looking to you for technical leadership. They are missing their old Principal and now can’t wait to meet you.

Interview process:

• Technical discussion with the hiring manager to understand your approach to AI/ML problems.
• Coding Assignment: 1 week to complete take home task (you can use Co-Pilot, just please disclose that you are, for what and why).
• Panel interview – Business introductions and deep technical-solutioning (think design and software engineering).

This role is ideally Sydney based (hybrid), but we are also open to applicants from other places on the East Coast (Aus) as many in the AI team are geographically distributed.
