Job Description

Junior Quantitative Analyst - Fintech

  • Join a high growth scaling fintech.
  • Ideal role for someone with a genuine curiosity about how quant logic underpins financial decisions.
  • $80k - $100k plus super

This is a perfect opportunity for early-career analysts who love maths, models and solving real-world problems.

Ready to break into the world of quantitative modelling — but don’t want to disappear into a giant trading floor?
Here’s your chance to join a global fintech driving the next wave of digital financial advice. They build sophisticated retirement, investment and insurance advice models used by major institutions, and you’ll be right in the engine room helping bring those models to life.

This is an ideal role for someone with a mathematical brain, strong attention to detail, and a genuine curiosity about how quantitative logic underpins financial decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist in building, updating, and testing quantitative models used in retirement, investment and insurance advice.

  • Under senior guidance, implement model changes for new products, clients or regions.

  • Translate advice rules and client requirements into Excel formulas or basic coding.

  • Verify calculations, troubleshoot discrepancies and contribute to clean documentation and version control.

  • Run test scenarios and record outputs for validation and release cycles.

  • Compare expected vs actual results and help identify calculation issues.

  • Work through testing tickets and support investigations with the quantitative team.

  • Maintain organised test evidence and participate in peer reviews.

  • Work closely with senior quants to learn modelling standards and configuration processes.

  • Join team meetings, workshops and training sessions to deepen both technical and business knowledge.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering and consulting teams to understand how quantitative logic is integrated into a broader advice platform.

  • Suggest improvements for efficiency, accuracy or documentation.

  • Support internal projects related to data, testing or model enhancement.

  • Own small, clearly defined tasks and deliver them within agreed timelines.

You’ll Bring

  • Enthusiasm to learn how quantitative and actuarial models power digital financial advice.

  • A proactive, detail-driven mindset with a love of numbers, logic and accuracy.

  • A logical, structured approach to problem solving, even on unfamiliar tasks.

  • A collaborative attitude coupled with solid organisation and time management across multiple deadlines.

  • Genuine interest in mathematics, fintech, stochastic modelling, AI and applied quantitative logic.
